Michael Rhebergen is an independent documentary photographer and visual researcher from The Netherlands, whose work is focusing on socio- cultural, human rights – and environmental issues. Trained as a social manager with a specialization in cultural anthropology he is a self-taught photographer, who predominantly works on long-term personal projects. He has traveled to more than thirty different countries in parts of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. His work has been exhibited and published internationally. His clients include The Washington Post, De Volkskrant, The Telegraph, Courrier International, NRC, The Correspondent among others.
Michael’s latest project THE NEW COAST has been nominated for the ANI-PixTrakk Award in France and he has also been nominated for the prestigious Joop Swart Masterclass organized by World Press Photo, together with the 6×6 Global Talent Program – Europe, which is also organized by World Press Photo.
