For generations the Dutch rivers held so much fish, hundreds of fishermen worked on these waters.
Today only a father and son are active on their boat.
“I cannot imagine something better than being on the water the whole week together with my son,” says Father Frans Komen.
For a period of over more than five years Michael has followed these two men.
With his images he sheds light into a world that was being thought of as being extinct. And at the same time the archaic life of the fishermen poses questions about our own, modern existence. Is the abundance in which we live a quality?
